About the Event
BCA is pleased to announce its 2025 Class-subsidised training day, ahead of the first Championship event of the season - The Sailing Chandlery Blaze Eastern Championship (12-13th April). Make a long weekend of it! Encouraged by a well-presented and well-received coaching and training performance by our very own multi National Champion, Ben Harden in 2024, we’re delighted to secure his expert services once again. There’s no one else on the planet who can better Ben’s winning Blaze-specific insight. As the 2024 trainees will tell you, Ben imparts his knowledge freely, with eloquence and clarity and has proven himself a coach with all the right ingredients to help draw the best out of you and your boat. You can expect a full day of classroom and on-water sessions with personalised boat set-up and tuning advice, how to improve your speed on the water, racing skills, tactical awareness and video analysis/debrief. The cost for training day is a fantastic value *£50*
If the training isn't great value enough, there's also discounted racing for trainees: Combined training and Sailing Chandlery Blaze Eastern Championship race entry - an awesome *£90* (Discount offer only available until 23rd March. Normal race entry only price £60).
The training prices include:
Bacon/sausage bap breakfast on Friday morning.
Free tea and coffee all day in training room.
1-course Friday Bistro ('British Classics' theme) and Quiz night at RCYC
We're always at the mercy of the weather, but the day may include (but not necessarily limited to):
Informal meet and greet (rigged and dressed). Coffee/Tea and breakfast. 08:30 start
Land rigging/tuning presentation.
Waterside rigging advice
2 water sessions (weather dependent)
Video debrief
Training review and Q&A. 18:00 finish
Trainees will be expected to provide their own packed lunch on Friday to minimise faff and maximise training time.
Camping available on site - £10 per night for tents, £20 for motorhomes with hookup. Hookups limited - first come first served.

Balance of training fee (with or without Blaze Easterns Championship Entry) is required to be paid by Sunday 23rd March. Race discount will not be available after this date. You MUST be a member of BCA at the time of balance payment or risk losing your place and deposit. Places will be awarded to BCA Members ahead of expired or non-existent memberships.
