Hello

Am new to class and am struggling to sheet in during stronger winds. I already have an aft main system and am wondering whether or not the harken rachamatic block will help. I have already adjusted the rake to my weight range of around 65kg, any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

If you've already switched to aft sheeting then all I'd say is that a GOOD ratchet block is essential. I'm not married to any particular brand, I've got a ronstan orbit on there at the moment and it seems fine.

Bear in mind that in stronger wind you should be carrying a LOT of kicker, especially upwind, that takes a lot of load off of the mainsheet. If you're sailing around with insufficient kicker then the mainsheet loads will feel much heavier.
