Not quite the same story as usual. The top pin has come out of the rudder stock. How are they supposed to be attached together? Best suggestion so far is to drive a self-tapper in to the pin and then file the top flush with the stock.

Any other suggestions?

I assume it is the 'original' Mk1 cast aluminium stock that takes the 21mm Mk1 rudder blade.... Yes with age the gudgeon pin can work loose. Long term you could have it worked on by an engineering company to drill out the alloy and turn a suitable pin before re-insertion.

Short-term - you should find there is a very small locking pin that is driven in from the side to keep the main gudgeon pin in location. If you remove the main pin, fill join with epoxy and ram it home and then drive the locking pin in hard with a hammer and punch so it distorts a bit that should work fine....

And if it really is a lost cause you can replace the stock.... We get a custom one made for the Mk1 to order but they are not cheap. The Mk1 does not take standard stocks, including the later one we use on the Mk2 and Mk3 unfortunately as the attachment points are fairly close together and at a non-standard separation.
